I attended SOFI64 for 12 weeks in autumn/winter 2025 and had an excellent experience in improving my French language skills. The curriculum is structured and student centered with the course tailored to the level and needs of the students leading to a balanced focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The small class size provides ample opportunity for each student to engage in conversation in a collegiate atmosphere, it was very enjoyable to attend classes with students of different nationalities plus a variety of backgrounds. My teachers (Elisa and Julie) were extremely capable, highly professional and qualified and were always well prepared for each class. They created an environment that made students feel comfortable in actively engaging in conversation. Were perceptive in identifying when to adapt lessons to the students’ needs and progress. Utilized a variety of teaching methods and possessed the capabilities to explain concepts clearly and simply. From my observation all students were making material progress in their language proficiency on a week-to-week basis. Additionally, Stéphanie and Thomas invest time to successfully create an environment that leads to an overall positive experience for students.
