I attended SOFI64 for 12 weeks in autumn/winter 2025 and had an excellent experience in improving my French language skills. The curriculum is structured and student centered with the course tailored to the level and needs of the students leading to a balanced focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The small class size provides ample opportunity for each student to engage in conversation in a collegiate atmosphere, it was very enjoyable to attend classes with students of different nationalities plus a variety of backgrounds. My teachers (Elisa and Julie) were extremely capable, highly professional and qualified and were always well prepared for each class. They created an environment that made students feel comfortable in actively engaging in conversation. Were perceptive in identifying when to adapt lessons to the students’ needs and progress. Utilized a variety of teaching methods and possessed the capabilities to explain concepts clearly and simply. From my observation all students were making material progress in their language proficiency on a week-to-week basis. Additionally, Stéphanie and Thomas invest time to successfully create an environment that leads to an overall positive experience for students.

I recently finished 10 weeks at SOFI 64 and it was an excellent experience. It exceeded all of my expectations. The teachers are true professionals. They have the expertise to teach language effectively and to make the lessons interactive, engaging, and enjoyable. The materials used in the classes are thoughtfully chosen and are often created by the teachers to meet the students' needs. The lessons are well-designed and dynamic, which keeps the energy level in the classroom high and keeps everyone motivated. My French improved for sure, many thanks to my teachers Elisa and Stéphanie. There is a strong sense of community at SOFI 64, so "French immersion" doesn't feel intimidating. Stéphanie, the director and a teacher, makes a tremendous effort to get to know each student individually and, I think, succeeds in making everyone feel welcome. It's a very comfortable environment. It's been a wonderful to meet so many interesting people from a variety of countries.

If you are looking for small classes, very good teachers and the chance to genuinely improve your french whilst having a great time - this is your spot!! The school has a really good culture and the town of Anglet is a fantastic spot for when you are not in classes. I was originally looking across France for language courses and I don't think I could have made a better decision than selecting SOFI 64!

My experience at SOFI64 was awesome. Classes have very few students therefore you get way more attention and everyone has to participate, which helps you learn faster. The teachers are great, they make you interact during lessons so it's not just grammar, you actually talk, listen and write a lot. I also had the chance to stay with a host family, which was an amazing experience. My host mum was incredibly welcoming and really made me feel at home. Plus, the location in Anglet is perfect. You can study, and then hit the beach or go surfing. It's the best of both study and holiday vibes.

Ich habe mich während meines vierwöchigen Sprachaufenthalts sehr wohlgefühlt. Alles war super organisiert, und ich konnte viel aus dem Unterricht mitnehmen. Besonders gut fand ich, dass die Lektionen so aufgebaut waren, dass man jeden Tag sprechen, schreiben, Grammatik und Hörverständnis üben konnte. Die Schule hat eine sehr familiäre Atmosphäre, mit tollen Lehrpersonen und abwechslungsreichen Wochenaktivitäten. Auch die Lage ist top, nur fünf Minuten vom Strand entfernt, und rundherum gibt es gute Möglichkeiten zum Mittagessen. Ich hatte die Möglichkeit in einer Gastfamilie zu wohnen und würde dies weiterempfehlen.

Anglet est une ville charmante, avec la plage et le surf à disposition. Une excellente combinaison pour ceux qui souhaitent apprendre le français et passer un bon moment dans le sud-ouest de la France. I can warmly recommend Stéphanie's school to everyone. The teachers are excellent and highly qualified, and the atmosphere is very familiar and welcoming. The school is located close to the beach, in a quiet and idyllic neighborhood. For optimal learning progress, I recommend staying for at least two/three weeks. I also suggest choosing accommodation with a host family. I had a great experience and heard a lot of positive feedback from other students about both the living arrangements and the families themselves. The price-performance ratio is excellent. For those interested, I especially recommend booking surf lessons during the warmer months. These courses are scheduled to fit around the French classes and are available for different levels. The surf instructors are fantastic. All in all, this is a hidden gem on the Basque coast and definitely an experience worth having.

J'ai passé 5 semaines en programme intensif et je suis ravie de cette expérience. Dès le premier jour, les professeurs et l'équipe pédagogique vous mettent à l'aise et créent une atmosphère chaleureuse et agréable. Les classes sont petites et offrent un équilibre parfait entre pratique orale et grammaire. L'école est entourée de verdure dans un cadre paisible, et à seulement 5 minutes à pied se trouve la plage, où nous allions souvent nous détendre et nous détendre après les cours. Chaque semaine, l'école organise également différentes activités pour découvrir la région et rencontrer d'autres étudiants. I first visited SOFI 64 in June 2024 for a few weeks of French class, I had such an amazing experience that I returned this August to spend my 3 week vacation again, in the beautiful Anglet; learning French, meeting like minded people and spending lots of time at the beach! I have visited a few French schools around France but none of them have compared to the learning environment and family feel of Sofi. At Sofi, the classes are kept small so you get quality attention from your prof, there are extracurriculars every week where you can socialise whilst learning about French culture, of course there’s the yoga and surf classes, of which I’ve tried both and enjoyed. Look no further! You have found the perfect French school and I know you will have an amazing time at SOFI 64. I’ve spent 14 weeks at this school over the last 2 years, and would highly recommend their teachers and course to anyone serious about French, after trying a few other school around France, this was by far my favourite and a reason I will return in the future as well. Anglet is a great place to relax, with surf available a lot of the time and I found the host families to be extremely kind and friendly to live with, 6/5 stars! Thanks to everyone there for your patience and hard work to make such a great school possible.

Yo quedé muy contento con el curso que hice. Éramos pocos alumnos y el sistema de enseñanza era muy dinámico y muy práctico. La profesora tenía las clases muy preparadas y era muy hábil para hacernos participar, de manera que todos hablábamos mucho durante la sesión. He mejorado muchísimo mi francés. Además la escuela es una casa muy bonita y muy fresca y las actividades extraescolares son muy divertidas. Por otro lado, Stephanie y Toma se desvivieron por ayudarme con todo lo que necesité para mi estancia al margen del curso, indicándome dónde alquilar una bici, dónde comer, dónde surfear, dónde aparcar mi furgoneta... hasta me ofrecieron ducharme en la escuela. Y en general todos los profes eran muy amables y muy simpáticos. Vamos, que les pongo un 10 y volveré seguro.

SOFI64 ne se résume pas à apprendre le français : c’est un lieu où rencontrer des gens formidables, rire et vivre pleinement la langue. En mi caso, solo he tenido a Stéphanie como profesora durante la mayoría del tiempo, y he podido observar algo que me ha impresionado: se nota que ama lo que hace y que ha creado aquí su pequeño paraíso personal. Esta escuela no es solo un lugar para aprender francés, es un espacio donde personas de todo el mundo se encuentran y se conectan. Stéphanie transmite su pasión y su cariño de forma tan natural que lo contagia a todos los que están a su alrededor，(me he reído mucho con ella😂 es que tiene un sentido de humor parecido al mío) Y por supuesto, no puedo olvidarme de Thomas, que también es muy tiernito… ¡y prepara unas tartas deliciosas! La verdad, he llegado a pensar que para la gente que le guste merendar, solo por venir a probar esas tartas ya vale la pena apuntarse al curso. 😄 Y eso que normalmente no como dulces, ni como entre horas, pero una vez no me pude resistir! Ich habe die Sprachschule im August 2022 erst für 2 Wochen besucht. Da mir der Aufenthalt so gut gefallen hat, habe ich diesen vor Ort nochmals verlängert und knapp 3 wochen dort verbracht. Die Sprachschule befindet sich in einem wunderschönen Gebäude, dass nur 5 Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt ist. Somit ist die Lage fantastisch. Alles ist sehr familär und man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an aufgehoben. Stephanie und Thomas stehen einem bei jeglichen Fragen stets zur Stelle. Ich hatte den Kurs Intensiv24 gebucht. Am Morgen fand der Unterricht statt und an zwei Tagen in der Woche gab es nochmal Nachmittags Unterricht. Die SprachlehrerInnen sind alle sehr symphatisch und das Lernen der französischen Sprache wird sehr angenehm gestaltet. In kurzen Pausen und am Nachmittag kommt man mit den Sprachlehrern und den anderen Sprachschülern ins Gespräch. Zusätzlich hatte ich Surfstunden dazugebucht und hatte neben dem Sprachunterricht ein tolles Urlaubsgefühl. Die Unterbringung in einer Gastfamilie war ebenfalls sehr familär. Alles ist außerdem gut mit dem Fahrrad zu erreichen. Am Nachmittag und Abend kann man Zeit mit anderen Sprachschülern verbringen. Insgesamt war es ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt. Ich kann die Sprachschule nur empfehlen. Die Lage, die Lehrer, die familäre Atmosphäre waren einfach wunderbar. Ich werde definitiv einen weiteren Sprachaufenthalt dort verbringen. Ein großes Lob!!! Un séjour magnifique! Merci beaucoup pour tous! Je vais revenir! A la prochaine Ergänzung: Mittlerweile war ich schon dreimal in der Sprachschule und werde im August für weitere Wochen zurückkehren. Ich denke dies sagt schon alles:). Sofi64 ist eine unglaubliche Sprachschule. Die Lehrer sind strukturiert und organisiert. Die Atmosphäre ist weiterhin lieblich und familär. Das Gebäude der Schule ist super schön. Ich muss nochmal die Chefin Steph hervorheben und "le super assistant" Thomas. Sie geben wirklich ihr bestes dass es allen gut geht. Sie sind aufmerksam und helfen bei allen Fragen. Sofi64 est devenue comme une petite famille pour moi.

J‘ai passé quatre semaines superbe à l’école SOFI64!! Stéphanie, Thomas, (Chips, Tinko, Yin) et tous les professeurs font vraiment un effort de créer une atmosphère familiale. Comme j'étais dans une très petite classe, j'ai eu beaucoup d'occasions de parler et j'ai donc pu apprendre beaucoup de choses. Ma famille d'accueil était aussi super sympa. Je recommande vivement cette école à tout le monde :))

I had a brilliant experience on my two weeks course at Sofi64 - I wish I had stayed longer. The school is a short walk from the stunning beach and is friendly and relaxed. I was initally worried as I was considerably older than most of the students, but I needn't have worried. Elisa was a first rate teacher and everything was brilliantly organised by Stephanie and Thomas. We ate lunch all together in the courtyard, enjoyed engaging (and educational) activities every thursday afternoon afterclass and delicious snacks made by Thomas on a Friday during the coffee break. I stayed with a local family which I would highly recommend. I loved Anglet and I'm hoping to go back next year. I cannot recommend the experience highly enough.

I can really recommend this school! I stayed for two months (oct-dec), and I wish I had stayed even longer. The teachers are very engaged, and they both helped me progress a lot in my French while also making me feel at home at the school and in Biarritz. The classes focused a lot on speaking, which I really appreciated, and they often arranged different activities for us to get to know the area. An extra plus is that the school is just a short walk from the beach. This is truly a school for anyone who takes their French learning seriously, as well as for those who just want to have a great time in Biarritz. I hope to be back soon.

I spent 3 weeks in August in Sofi64 French School and I had such an amazing experience. The french classes I took were all engaging and we covered very interesting topics which gave the possibility to have curios discusssions and improve my french talking as well as the writing. Moreover, I took the DELF course, where I had an optimal preparation for the delf exam. The teachers were nice, open minded, passionate about their job and very active. The school also offers a lot of outdoor activities which I definitely recommend to get to know better the people from the school, have a full french immersion experience and explore the Pays Basque.

I had a fantastic time learning French at Sofi64 this summer. Steph has done an amazing job of bringing a great team of teachers together. The standard of teaching was very good, class sizes were small (mine ranged from 2 to 7 students over 3 weeks) and the atmosphere in the school was incredibly friendly. The school is in a great location, only 5-10 min walk from the beach, while Bayonne, Biarritz and the wider Basque region are full of things to do and see. I would fully recommend learning French at this school. Many thanks to Steph, Toma and the team for such an enjoyable few weeks.

I spent 5 weeks here July/August and it was awesome. Steph has created a really beautiful school. It's the perfect size, enough people to make friends but not too many that it's overwhelming. It doesn't feel like a business, it feels like a little French Family. The classes are small so you get to know everyone and the teachers really well. There are 2 dogs at the school so if you don't really like dogs maybe speak to your therapist about how to get over this fear because the school is really worth it. Each week they organise a little activity, for example, a picnic, board game afternoon at a cafe, a lesson to learn the local sports (some people say it's kinda like squash). I had lessons every morning as well as Monday and Tuesday afternoons. It was a really nice balance for me. Despite being Australian (and inspired by the iconic French surfer Brice de Nice) I didn't do the surf course but everyone who did was super happy with it. I stayed with a host family and it was really nice to eat my meals with them (and to not have to cook every night #LiveYourBestLife). I definitely hope to return ASAP! Je suis venu deux fois à l'école et, à deux reprises, mon expérience a dépassé mes attentes. Les cours sont interactifs et jamais ennuyeux, et il règne une ambiance vraiment positive et détendue entre tous les étudiants. 3ヶ月通い最終的にdelf B2の試験に合格できました！仕事の関係で行けない時間帯もあったのですが柔軟にレッスンを調整してくれて非常に助かりました。学校は明るくフレンドリーな雰囲気でとても居心地が良いです。また授業もかなり工夫されていて楽しく学べます。さらにサーフィンが趣味の自分にとっては授業の前と後にサーフィンがたくさんできたので良かったです。たまに開催されるバスクのスポーツ体験等のイベントも楽しかったです。このエリアでフランス語の学校を探しているのであればここで間違い無いです。お勧めです。

Sin duda de las mejores experiencias de mi vida fue en este colegio. Gracias a la gentileza de la directora Steph y todo el grupo de trabajo, Thomas; y maestras, Pauline, Charlyne e Inès que me ayudaron desde el inicio a tomar confianza en mi y en el idioma. Algo muy importante de remarcar es que pude obtener VISA de estudiante desde México a Francia con SOFI64 al ser una escuela de Calidad FLE (Français Langue Étrangère) estudiando 10 meses con ellos. Estoy muy contento con las clases, son hechas a tu nivel, clases super dinámicas, actividades sumamente interesantes donde aprendes no solo el idioma, sino también la rica cultura de Francia. Maestras y personal super elocuente, inteligente y divertido que hacen que se sienta estar como en casa... Un colegio que no se siente ser un colegio, sino como una familia. También tuve cursos privados en la tarde, dónde la conversación en francés es prioridad, fue gracias a estás clases privadas con las que mi fluides en el francés mejoro muy rápido. El ambiente entre las pausas y el famoso y delicioso goûte de los viernes por Thomas hacen que ir al colegio por las mañanas sea maravilloso. Estoy más que agradecido con el apoyo y la calidez de todo el colegio, me llevo recuerdos maravillosos, personas increíbles, y siendo una nueva persona a la que comenzó en Septiembre, llevaré a todos siempre en el corazón. Sans aucun doute ces 10 mois à Sofi64 ont été les meilleurs de ma vie, 10 mois avec des gens incroyables. Merci encore pour tout et par la patience jaja. Avis d’une Autrichienne: Ich habe im August 2023 einen zweiwöchigen Sprachkurs absolviert und habe die Zeit bei SOFI64 sehr genossen! Die Schule ist wirklich schön, die Klassenzimmer liebevoll eingerichtet, die ganze Atmosphäre war voll von guter Stimmung, Spaß und Sommer. Die Schule war auch von Biarritz, wo ich gewohnt habe, sehr leicht und schnell mit Bus oder Fahrrad zu erreichen. Es war von Anfang an alles sehr gut organisiert. Bereits vor der Ankunft, aber auch während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes haben Stéphanie und Thomas bei allen möglichen Fragen geholfen. Der Unterricht war sehr gut, super vorbereitet, extrem kurzweilig und hat wirklich Spaß gemacht, dabei hatte ich das Gefühl wirklich viel zu lernen. Sicher einer der besten Kurse, die ich je hatte!! Dazu wurde von der Schule auch viel an gemeinsamen Aktivitäten oder Abenden angeboten, wo man sich austauschen und Leute aus der ganzen Welt kennenlernen konnte. Ich freue mich schon sehr auf meinen nächsten Kurs dort! Absolut empfehlenswert!!

SOFI64 was the best school I have ever attended. The learning style, environment, and teachers made the experience amazing. I was only meant to stay for 2 weeks but decided to extend for another 2. I would recommend SOFI64 to anyone wanting to learn French in a positive and supportive environment. Surfing and yoga sessions were incredible as well. The school is in such a prime location, which makes things easy when getting around. Thank you, Steph, for being the best teacher ever. Our homework one week was to rate ice cream... how much better does it get! Will definitely be coming back soon :))))
